Zhibin completed his PhD in 2017 at the University of Adelaide. His thesis, titled, “Methods for Understanding and Improving Deep Learning Classification Models” is supervised by Centre Chief Investigators Gustavo Carneiro and Tat-Jun Chin. Prior to that, he received his B. Comp. Sci. (1st Class Hons) in 2013 from the same university.

Zhibin left Australia to take up a postdoctoral position at the University of British Columbia. His research interests include computer vision, pattern recognition, machine learning, and deep learning. In June 2019 he returned to take up a position as a Researcher at the Australian Institute for Machine Learning (AIML) based at the University of Adelaide.
