Yasir Latif received his PhD from University of Zaragoza, Spain (2014) before moving to the Centre as a research fellow at the University of Adelaide.

His area of research lies at the intersection of machine learning and robotics and mainly focuses on the application of deep learning to SLAM and the related problem of place recognition.

Yasir has received various awards for his research including best student paper at ICRA 2015 and DICTA 2019.
