Vijay Kumar was a Research Fellow based at the University of Adelaide, working with Professor Ian Reid and Dr Gustavo Carneiro. Prior to this, he was a Lead Engineer with Samsung Research Institute, India (in the Advanced Research Group). He received his PhD in Computer Science from Queen Mary, University of London in June 2013 and MS in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 2009. In his thesis, Vijay focused on developing supervised dictionary learning methods for action detection and action recognition. Vijay is now a Research Scientist at the Palo Alto Research Centre (PARC), a Xerox Campany based in California. He is based in the Interaction and Analytics Laboratory. His research interests are in the areas of computer vision and machine learning with current focus on deep metric learning, unsupervised representation learning, zero/few shot learning.
