Marc contributes to the Robust Vision and Vision and Action theme at the Centre and is a full professor at the Department of Computer Science of ETH Zurich. He leads the Computer Vision and Geometry laboratory.  Marc is also Director of Science at Microsoft and leads a team of computer vision researchers working on mixed reality and robotics.

He obtained his PhD from the KU Leuven in Belgium. His main area of research is computer vision. One of his main research goals is to develop flexible approaches to capture visual representations of real world objects, scenes and events. Marc was General Chair of ICCV 2019 and ECCV 2014 and Program Chair for CVPR 2009. He is an IEEE Fellow. (Over 32,000 citations and an h-index of 93).
