Juan completed his PhD at ANU in April 2017. Originally from Colombia, Juan joined the Centre as PhD candidate under the supervision of Chief Investigator Robert Mahony to work on the development of real time vision algorithms and computing architectures for robotic applications. His research project focused mainly on computation of optical flow and depth from motion implemented on GPU or FPGA platforms. The final goal of this research is the design of an embedded computing platform, low weight and low power, capable of handling vision algorithms in real time and suitable for aerial robotic vehicles.

Juan is now working as a Senior C++ Developer at Globant in Colombia.
